BIPOC Coach Collective

We’re kicking off the new year with one of our valued members, Michellea “Redbird” Millis Rucker. She shares her journey as an ‘edu-preneur’ and the various barriers she’s faced in her corporate career. In this episode, you’ll experience Michellea’s wisdom on how strong leadership can influence your performance.

About the Guest:

Michellea “Redbird” Millis Rucker is a Master Certified Professional Coach and ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) who has over 15 years of experience as an instructional, leadership, and equity coach. She has degrees in Organizational Management and Managerial Leadership and is currently a candidate for an Ed. D. in Leadership. Michellea specializes in Transformational Leadership and Performance Coaching. She leans into Positive Psychology, Leadership Theories and Frameworks, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, Acceptance, and Social Justice (DEIBAJ) best practices and Libertarian pedagogies.

Her facilitation and consulting (thought partnerships) are aligned with her coaching philosophy in that she co-designs a learning and growth experience that is intentional for cognitive heavy lifting and productive struggle of the participants. Michellea does explicitly frame and provide context to promote understanding and point of reference, including techniques such as action mapping to outline the needs of her partners while still allowing them to utilize their knowledge and expertise to guide the work and expectations of their initiatives.  As the African Proverb exclaims, " If you want to go fast, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together".
